  117. ===== Installation =====================================
  118.  
  119. The installation procedure for SIMSTAT is quite simple.  The
  120. package includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates the
  121. entire process.  You will need about 1MB of available disk space
  122. on the hard drive on which you plan to install SIMSTAT.
  123.  
  124. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  125.  
  126. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  127.  
  128.    o  Place SIMSTAT distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the
  129.       appropriate diskette drive.
  130.  
  131.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  132.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  133.       the MS-DOS command, "a:install".
  134.  
  135.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  136.       The program will ask you for a destination directory, and
  137.       will copy the SIMSTAT files to that directory.  If you
  138.       received SIMSTAT on two diskettes, you will need to insert
  139.       Disk 2 in the diskette drive when asked to do so.
  140.  
  141. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  142.  
  143. If you downloaded SIMSTAT from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  144. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  145. following steps.
  146.  
  147.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  148.       directory on your hard drive.
  149.  
  150.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  151.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  152.       the SIMSTAT package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the MS-DOS
  153.       command, "c:\tempdir\install".
  154.  
  155.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  156.       The program will ask you for a destination directory, and will
  157.       copy the SIMSTAT files to that directory.

  159. When you're satisfied that the installation was successful, you should
  160. delete the temporary directory FROM which you installed SIMSTAT
  161. (C:\TEMPDIR, in the above discussion), including all its contents.

  166. Once you've complete the installation, you should consult the
  167. READ.ME and the INTRO.DOC file which will give you last minute
  168. information and instructions to get started quickly.  For a rapid
  169. overview of SIMSTAT capabilities, you may also run the demonstration
  170. program provided with SIMSTAT by executing the DEMO.BAT file from
  171. the program directory.

  211.   freeware! The SIMSTAT  package is a copyrighted  software product
  212.   developed and owned by Normand Peladeau.

  214.   SIMSTAT  is distributed as  shareware.  As  such, individuals may
  215.   evaluate the SIMSTAT package for a maximum period of 30 days.  At
  216.   the end  of  the  evaluation  period,  if  you  wish  to continue
  217.   using it,  you must register  your copy with the author,  Normand
  218.   Peladeau.

  220.   Registration is  $65 in U.S.  dollars plus shipping  and handling
  221.   ($6 for U.S. and Canadian residents, $8 for other countries)

  242.   on which the SIMSTAT package will be running.  An unlimited  Site
  243.   License is also available which  allows unlimited copying of  the
  244.   software for  internal use by  your company (see the  file called
  245.   ORDER.FRM for pricing information).

  247.   Regardless  of  the  number  of  machines  for  which  SIMSTAT is
  248.   licensed,  one diskette  containing  the program  and  one manual
  249.   will be sent  to you.   Upon receipt, you may make as many copies
  250.   of the package  as are licensed.   The license  covers use of all
  251.   versions of  the software.  A copy of  the next version  will  be
  252.   sent to you when it becomes available.  Additional disquettes and
